Historical Facts

The Jules Verne French school is managed by a parent’s association and has a long history in Finland.
It was created in 1976 and was, at first, welcoming only children from French speaking diplomatic staff from 5 years old until Secondary school.
In 1995, when Finland joined the EU, the school (in Munkkivuori) enlarged its public by offering a complete schooling for non-French speakers and French speaking children from all horizons.
In 1997, the number of students increases so much that it becomes necessary to rent a second building for the Kindergarten (in Sturenkatu).
In August 2004, the school is housed in a new and large building on Lehtisaari, at the border between Espoo and Helsinki. All the students are reunited under the same roof and share quality sport and educational equipment in a beautiful environment.
From August 2011, the school moves to Helsinki city centre, in a presigious building in Ratakatu 6A.

At the heart of Finnish life, Finnish language is naturally taught from the first kindergarten level, the school adapts its rhythm to local life, favours exchanges with students and teachers of Finnish schools.
